Accommodation in Bwindi impenetrable national park ( Silverback Lodge)

Silverback Lodge

The latest addition to the Marasa Africa properties is Silverback Lodge, located in the Buhoma sector of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in western Uganda. Silverback Lodge is only a five minute walk to the national park and has sweeping views of the valley and forests that surround it.

The lodge has sweeping views of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park; a 124-square-mile UNESCO site home to approximately 350 mountain gorillas, non-habituated chimpanzees, more than 100 other species of mammals, 346 species of birds, and 163 species of trees.

Silverback Lodge is perched on high, atop the valley overlooking Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The view is absolutely stunning and the best place to enjoy apr├Ęs-tracking cocktails. Bird watching and sometimes primate viewing is possible right from the front door of your room. With 12 rooms, we are the largest lodge in the area and will remain one of the best value properties in the region, whilst keeping the Marasa Africa standards of comfort and hospitality.

There are twelve rooms in total at Silverback Lodge including single, double and twin rooms. These were built and designed using local materials, such as forest vines, sisal rope and purple slate stone. Each room has an en-suite bathroom (with hot water showers) and comfortable chairs on the veranda for viewing the flora and fauna that make up the surroundings in the valley.

accommodation in Bwindi Impenetrable National park ( Buhoma sector)

Engagi Lodge

Engagi Lodge is a small and exlusive property on the edge of the Impenetrable Forest, close to the park headquarters. The lodge is open-ended at the front allowing a dramatic view of the Bwindi National Park from every corner inside the building.

The accommodation consists of eight en-suite Cottages which are evenly spaced out and hidden in the foliage. Each Cottage has either double or twin beds, a bathroom with flushing toilets and hot and cold running water. All units have private verandahs where guests can enjoy their early morning tea or coffee.

The kitchen, which has been built a distance away from the lodge to ensure privacy for the clients, prepares a variety of three course meals and all requirements such as vegetarians and vegans are catered for by our team of experienced Kampala trained chefs. The main lodge comprises a rock bar, the restaurant and a large wooden verandah with a separate outdoor viewing platform. The lodge building is large enough to cater for sizeable groups needing banqueting tables, but still allows smaller individual groups to spread out in the various different areas for privacy.

Guests will be able to enjoy a number of private walking trails around the lodge and down to the river. They may also enjoy a visit to a number of functioning tea farms inside the site which are maintained by members of the community.
